Couple Celebrates 64th Wedding Anniversary at the Rehab Center at Morrell

Mr. and Mrs. Emmett “Ray” Davis celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on January 22, 2013. Mr. Davis is currently a patient at the Rehab Center at Morrell receiving therapy. The employees at Morrell were so thrilled for the couple and this accomplishment that they rolled out the red carpet for this special occasion. The dietary department at Morrell treated the couple to a steak dinner with all of the trimmings.

The couple married on January 22nd of 1949. Together they have 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Mr. Davis spent the early years of his career in the United States Navy and followed this by working as a fireman. Mrs. Davis (Virginia) worked, in the office of a local accounting firm, until retiring at age 76.

The devotion of a couple being married for 64 years is definitely a role model to couples today and something worth celebrating. The Rehab Center at Morrell and employees were grateful to be able to make this day a little special for them.
