COVID-19

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to pose health risk to seniors and those that have certain underlying health conditions. At Wilson Senior Care we are doing everything we can to prevent the spread of this virus in each of our skilled nursing facilities: Medford, Morrell, Oakhaven, Grand Strand and Loris. Wilson Senior Care continues to work closely with CMS, CDC, federal, state, and local health officials to ensure we are taking the appropriate steps at this time.

Wilson Senior Care continues to restrict outside visitation, non-essential personnel, outside vendors, and screen employees before entry. In addition, we have cancelled all group and communal activities with the building. Our staff continue following preventative guidelines and current restrictions will remain in place until the virus has been eradicated.

Our leadership team continues to remain vigilant during this time. We will continue to keep the health and safety of our resident’s our main priority.

We actively monitor all staff entering the facility daily and are currently completing Universal testing for COVID-19 of all residents and staff as directed by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) requires that all nursing centers notify family members each time a confirmed infection of COVID-19 is identified, or 3 or more residents or staff with the new onset of respiratory symptoms occur within 72 hours of each other. For your convenience, we have set up a new dashboard on our website page (Simply click here for our current Status). This is a great tool for you to utilize daily to check on the status of COVID-19 cases in any of our 5 facilities. The dashboard shall be updated every day.

If you should have any questions involving the care of your loved one or our actions taken to address the COVID 19 virus, please contact your facility Executive Director.

Wilson Senior Care is thankful for the continued support of the families, volunteers and communities as we continue to restrict visitations in our nursing facilities. The senior population that we serve is most vulnerable and at-risk of COVID-19. Wilson Senior Care realizes that this is a difficult time for families. During this time, we encourage you to reach your loved one by phone, email, FaceTime, Skype or other electronic means. The Social Service Director will handle making Skype and FaceTime appointments for you and your loved one. Please contact them to get set up with appointments. We will continue striving to provide our families with clear communications and updates

Wilson Senior Care’s primary concern is for the health, safety and well-being of our residents.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
