Leadership Profile: Tonya Martin began her career with Wilson Senior Care in 2017 as a Clinical Effectiveness Nurse and was promoted to Chief Clinical Officer in 2019. Tonya has 28 years of RN experience. She began her career in the acute care setting as a Medical Surgical Nurse/Emergency Room Nurse and then worked in Home Health as Director of Nursing/Director of Professional Services. She also worked for five years as the Director/Grant Writer of Helping Hands Free Medical Clinic where they provided care to the uninsured and underserved population. Tonya has 25 years of experience in Long Term Care, serving as the Director of Nursing for 11 years and the Executive Director for 11 years. In addition, she has over 10 years as a Nurse Consultant assisting facilities to comply with State and Federal Regulations. During her tenure as Executive Director, her facility was one of only two facilities to achieve the Tier IV Quality Award in South Carolina.

Tonya received an Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina in 1991. Tonya is Board Certified in Geriatrics and is Resident Assessment Coordinator Certified.

Tonya previously served on the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and School Board.

Tonya and her family live in Mullins, SC. She enjoys playing the piano and reading.
